Different Types of Lube For Sex

Updated: Jul 14, 2023

Lubrication is an important aspect of sexual activity that can enhance comfort, reduce friction, and increase pleasure. We are usually expecting to depend on that "WAP" vaginal lubrication when we are trying to get busy. The duration and intensity of vaginal lubrication can differ for each individual and may vary depending on factors such as age, hormonal changes, medications, stress levels, and overall health. So in other words, girl don't trip! Don't hesitate or be ashamed to grab some lube! It's been created to make sex more pleasurable and enjoyable!

Types Of Lube

  • Water- based Lubricant

  • Silicone- based Lubricant

  • Oil- based Lubricant

  • Hybrid Lubricant

1. Water-based lubricants

Water-based lubricants are a popular choice for intimate lubrication because of its versatility, compatibility, and its ability to be easily used. They are compatible with various types of condoms, including latex and polyisoprene. They are also safe to use with most sex toys, including those made from silicone, glass, metal, or hard plastic. Check out #SlipperyWhenWet Water-based lubricant for a great option!

One of the other advantages of water-based lubricants is their easy to clean-up. They are water-soluble, meaning they can be easily rinsed off with water, leaving no residue behind. They are also non-staining, which makes them convenient for use on fabrics and sheets. However, they can dry out over time and may need to be reapplied. There's various formulations of water- based lubes to cater to different needs including liquid, cream, gel, warming, cooling, etc. Check out my video on YouTube where I talk more in depth about water-based lubricants here.

2. Silicone-based lubricants

Silicone-based lubricants are long-lasting and provide a silky-smooth texture. They are compatible with latex condoms but should not be used with silicone sex toys, as they can degrade the material. Silicone lubricants are also water-resistant, making them suitable for activities involving water. They are not absorbed by the skin and can be more difficult to wash off compared to water-based lubricants. (I tested this brand of lube in my video below!)

3. Oil-based lubricants

Oil-based lubricants, such as coconut oil or mineral oil, can be used for sexual activities. However, they should not be used with latex condoms, as they can weaken the material and increase the risk of breakage. Oil-based lubricants can also stain fabrics and may be more challenging to clean off the body. (The one pictured above has great reviews on amazon if would prefer a more natural lube.)

4. Hybrid lubricants

Hybrid lubricants combine the properties of water-based and silicone-based lubricants. They offer the long-lasting benefits of silicone-based lubricants with the easy cleanup of water-based lubricants. Hybrid lubricants are generally safe to use with condoms and sex toys, but it's essential to check the product's label for specific compatibility information.

I personally recommend Sliquid Hybrid Lubricant (Pictured above). It is an intimate lubricant designed to provide the ultimate pleasure and comfort during your most intimate moments. Offering you long-lasting lubrication without compromising on the silky smoothness and glide that you desire. Enjoy uninterrupted pleasure at its finest. Shop now for Sliquid Hybrid Lubricant.

5. Natural lubrication

The body naturally produces its lubrication during sexual arousal. However, some individuals may experience insufficient natural lubrication, which can lead to discomfort during intercourse. In such cases, using additional lubrication, such as water-based or silicone-based lubricants, can enhance comfort and pleasure.

Everyone's preferences and sensitivities can vary. Some individuals may have allergies or sensitivities to certain lubricant ingredients, so make sure to read product labels and perform a patch test before applying any lubricant extensively. Additionally, staying hydrated and getting your foreplay on can also help increase natural lubrication. It's important that the person your being intimate with, knows what you like to really turn up the natural lubrication. Communicating with your partner and experimenting with different lubrication options will help you find the one that works best for both of you.
